Today, I challenge everyone to make a $1 donation to Cindy’s Fund.  She is a friend of my friend who is battling breast cancer and has a long road ahead of her.   I cannot even imagine what she is going through, but I know that not having to worry about finances will be a huge blessing to her, so please prayfully consider giving at least $1.  Jesus performed a miracle with 5 loaves and 2 fish and can do the same with $1!! You can donate BY CLICKING HERE!!

Here is the information from her page “Please consider a donation to the Cindy’s Crusaders Fund. This fund has been setup so that Cindy & Family can focus on healing and not worry about mounting bills due to her second battle with cancer.

Cindy fought her first battle with this horrible disease when she was in her early 20′s. Her battle to win against Hodgkin’s lymphoma took it’s toll on Cindy and her young family. Radiation treatments were what saved her life. Fastforward 15 years and here we are. The radiation treatments that saved her back then has now given her breast cancer. Cindy will be undergoing a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction within the next few weeks.

The doctors are optimistic that they can eradicate the cancer with these drastic measures. 75% chance that the mastectomy will take all the cancer out of her body. 25% chance that it may have spread and chemo will be needed after surgery. We won’t know until after the surgery. Cindy has a long road of recovery and healing ahead. 5 days in the hospital post surgery, 8 weeks of recovery at home, many visits to the plastic surgeon for expansion of the tissue expanders during the 8 weeks then a final surgery(about 3 months after) for the implants to be placed.

We know Cindy will win this battle, but she needs warriors on her team. Give a little, give a lot. We are asking that you give because Cindy would never ask.”

You can inform her that she is the recipient of Day 133 of 365 Days of” as well as we attached a 365 Days of Kindness card. (YOU CAN PRINT THE CARDS BY CLICKING HERE). (The amount can be as small as $1 or as much as you want!)  This is such a cool way to show the love of Jesus.

365 Days of Kindness
Today, I challenge everyone to get involved with Stamp out Hunger. All you have to do is put a bag full of nonperishable food items by your mailbox for your mail carrier tomorrow.  Donate items like canned meats, fish, soup, bottled juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice that do not require refrigeration. Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.

Here is some information taken from the Stamp Out Hunger FB page:

On May 11, 2013 we’ll celebrate our 21st year of Stamp Out Hunger! Help the NALC fight hunger in America by getting involved. Thanks for your support!

Company Overview
On Saturday, May 11, Campbell Soup Company will join forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) to Stamp Out Hunger across America in order to provide assistance to the rapidly increasing number of Americans who are struggling with hunger.

Now in its 21th year, the Stamp Out Hunger effort is the nation’s largest single-day food drive. In 2012, 70.5 million pounds of food was donated, which brought the grand total of donations to more than 1.2 billion pounds of food collected over the history of the drive.

Unfortunately, despite the generosity of millions of Americans who have supported the letter carriers’ food drive in previous years, the need for food assistance has never been greater. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s annual study measuring food security in the United States, nearly 50 million Americans are living in food insecure homes.

The amount you donate can be as small as one canned good or as much as you want!)  Remember Jesus performed the miracle with 5 loaves and 2 fish and can do the same with your donation, even 1 item!! This is such a cool way to show the love of Jesus.

Today, I challenge everyone to make a gift for a teacher in honor of Teacher’s Appreciation Week.  I found this cute idea from Uncommon Design Online.  I also found these adorable little “Thanks A Latte” printables over at Skip To My Lou! You can cut out simple brown cardstock gift tags for your children to write a personal note to each of their teachers. Each mug was filled with brown, shredded paper from the dollar store and a coffee gift card was place inside. Finally,  place each mug in a cello bag and tie it closed with jute twine and the tags! Pretty cute idea!!

This is such an easy way to give back. You can include a 365 Days of Kindness if you choose  (YOU CAN PRINT THE CARDS BY CLICKING HERE). Remember no amount is to small ~ Jesus performed the miracle with 5 loaves and 2 fish and can do the same with only 1 donation if that is all you can donate!!  Who’s in? I am praying that everyone gets involved in this.
