Buses N’ Backpacks, Clermont, Florida. Once a child has joined the Buses n’ Backpacks program, they receive a backpack every Friday. This backpack contains 6 meals and 2 snacks for the weekend. The child returns the empty backpack on Monday and we pick it up and fill it again for the following weekend. They protect each child’s privacy by making sure our backpacks look just like any other backpack. They want to make sure their not putting kids in a position to get teased by other kids, just because they have a need. Currently they work with nine local schools to identify those in need, serving 200 children each week.
