KROGER: No more doubling in Cincy/Dayton/Northern KY Areas beginning March 1st!!

Beginning March 1st ALL stores in the Cincy/Dayton/Northern KY areas (118 stores total) will be discontinuing doubling coupons. Krogers states it is replacing double coupons with lower prices and more weekly specials. For now, Kroger says that it has no plans to end the double coupon program in other markets, which means the Columbus/Toledo District will not be affected.

What does everyone think about this? I would love to hear your opinions!!

  1. I think Kroger makes enough money and has already cut service to customers at store. If they do this,I will shop where they double.I have been doubling for 30 plus years and want to keep on doing it.

  2. I think Koger already makes enough money and has already cut lots of services at store.I will shop elsewhere if they do this.I have been doubling for 30 plus years.

  3. I think Kroger is making a huge mistake! We live within a few miles from mutiple grocery stores. Example all on the same street we have 2 walmarts, target, Meijer and not far a Biggs. Seems very silly to not stay competitive. Doubling coupons is what made me shop there over the others. Now I will just drive 2 minutes and shop at Meijer who does still double for the time being. Just seems silly.

  4. If they cut doubling in Toledo, I know I won’t shop there much. Their regular prices are way to high and the sales aren’t always what they are cracked up to be.

  5. Living in Columbus I have many grocery stores who can have my business. Kroger reduced their announced sales a while back and I didn’t shop there as often. When Kroger has an amazing sale (such as this week) they see me several times in the course of a week. The store that offers me the most savings is the store that I end up shopping with for all of my needs. Suggesting that their sales will increase is like believing that BOGO meat sales are a deal when they double the price per pound on the product. Most coupon shoppers are excited to find a store that values their business. In turn, they will find it a waste of time to shop at other grocery stores.
I hope that Kroger takes a hard look at the numbers on weeks like this one. Although I went for the amazing deals I spent far more than even I had anticipated spending. On top of that I also bought most of my extras while at Kroger. Removing double coupons will probably result in a loss of my business. Heck, I was hoping that triple coupons would make a comeback soon.
