If you all remember last week when Giant Eagle made their official announcement they were going to close two of their stores in Toledo, I told you then that Kroger would be stopping doubling. There is no competition in our area to double any longer. I had heard from a very reliable source two weeks ago it was going to happen, but had to wait until the official announcement came out and I just confirmed with our local store that the official announcement was made. May 1st is the official date. I am very disappointed to say the least, but I am not surprised and have been telling you all for the last week or so it was a matter of time. When I started seeing the “new lower price” signage in the stores, I knew that is the way they were heading, same signs as the other stores that are not doubling.
The bad news for Kroger, Meijer, etc who quit doubling, is a lot of people will take their business to Walmart. Walmart price matches ALL other store sale prices and they accept coupons, so you can go to one store and get all your stuff for the same price as going to several stores. Trust me I will still be finding us all the best deals and saving us money. It is not the end of the world and there are so many deals to still be had!! Don’t be discouraged, they could completely do away with coupons. . so this is just a small bump in the road:)

Thank God you will be here to help us still find the best deals!!!
so are you saying the perrysburg Kroger on rt 20 won’t be doubling coupons anymore ….is there any other info you have on this.
I am very upset about this ..what kroger stores are you specifically talking about in tolefdo.
The Columbus District encompasses all of Toledo, Perrysburg, etc. Kroger is also set to stop doubling at ALL KROGERS in the US so they will no longer be doubling anywhere
Does this also include the Kroger in Lambertville, MI? Do you know if it includes Monroe, MI too?
That is too bad. My Kroger (Central) stopped about 9 months ago, and it has been a bit hard.
