Today I took Tim & Jeff from 105.5 couponing. I had a ton of fun with them and taught them the basics of couponing (or I think I did, hahaha). I also talked to them about the significance of giving hygienic items. . . Food stamps do not cover these items so many families have to make tough decisions, as I did almost 20 years ago.
As you can see I even had them purchase some feminine products. No man is too manly to help those in need!!
The important thing that I wanted to get across was that through couponing we truly can impact our communities, one life at a time, one coupon at a time. This is not couponing, but this is a ministry and we can all help. None of us can help everyone, but all of us can help someone and when we do we serve Jesus. I gave the 5-item challenge and hope many people take that up. Donating 5 items a week is such an easy, tangible thing to do but 5 items matter. We need to step up and make a difference. We were able to purchase tuna pouches, 21 cans of vegetables, deodorant, body wash, toothpaste, Nesquik, pantiliners, gum, etc. We saved close to 85%!! Total retail was over $100. Not much, but I just wanted to give them a feel for couponing. They loaded it up in their vehicle and were taking it to Seagate Food Bank!!
We talked about doing a huge food (couponing) drive. They agree, everyone gives during the holidays Thanksgiving and CHRISTmas, but what about the other 10 months. People are still hungry, people still need help. . . let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus and truly help our fellow brothers and sisters out!! I’m excited about this and hope everyone will join us. Thank you Jesus!!

Jeff got one, but gave his to “Billy” our bagger. Can I say Jeff made Billy’s day!! I was glad to have 2 new “coupie” buddies (I don’t think they like being called “coupie” buddies hahaha!)
