This is my friend, Erika Thomas, from Time Square Church heading up giving us our direction!! This was from Sunday night after we made it into NYC!!
**This is a recap from last year at this time. . . so amazing to read this again and remember the miracle that God performed**
As I sit here typing this my eyes are full of tears, tears of Joy. What a mighty God we serve. If you don’t believe in Miracles, one happened today. Let me tell you the story of my real life Loaves and Fishes!! Yesterday I received my first test from Erika of Time Square Church. She informed me the dire needs in NYC. I asked what I could do. She informed us if we were able to fill a truck and get it to them, it would be a huge blessing. So, if you have followed my page long you know my heart. I had been praying for many days what God would have me do. I NEVER like to respond before I hear from God what HE would have me do. I was thinking small. . I already have a lot of things on my plate. . so in my mind I was thinking sending some items to Time Square Church or my friend’s church. Well, God had other plans for me. Erika text and as we talked I thought, “Okay, God are you serious? You want me to pull this off in 24 hours. . really?” Yes, You of so little faith. Well, I was obedient and called all the different media outlets that I had connections with. I can tell you I was still nervous how this was going to come together. Now, seriously, we serve a God that created the universe and I am worried about filling a truck, LOL. Yep, human nature kicked in. Well, I prayed last night and prayed some more!! I said “God I am believing completely in you, that you will provide, I don’t know how, but I am just trusting.”. I arrived at Sylvania Area Family Services with my 14 foot truck. At 8:30, only one person had stopped to drop off donations. I will not lie, I was starting to get nervous. I then starting praying and feeling a peace, that if this was God’s will, which I truly believed it to be, he would provide. Yes, I thought he would provide to fill the 14 foot truck. Well, Channel 13 showed up and people started trickling in. . slowly, but surely. By 10 a.m. we still did not have much, but I just continued to pray. Around 10:30 a.m. things started to move, and they moved very quickly. At one point, we had over 30 cars lined up dropping off. I have NEVER, EVER experienced anything like this. AndrewZ and Gina from 105.5 and the Free Press have been absolutely amazing. I would text or call Gina and tell her what we needed and she would post and the help would arrive. That is what working as a team is all about. It was humbling to watch the people come up and donate. Every DONATION MATTERS. We had a lady that was very old that came with her cane and handed me two cans of soup and a $1 bill. She apologized for not having more and it touched me so much. I gave her the biggest hug and told her HER DONATIONS MATTERED. I told her if everyone did something small, the end result was huge and I showed her the big harvest and said “your donations matter and look what Jesus did with them. . loaves and fishes.” She kissed me on the cheek and thanked me and said “God bless’. I will never forget this woman as long as I live. Her donations mattered. It reminded me of the story of the woman in the Bible with her donation. We always think our donations have to have the WOW affect, but they don’t. God is looking at our heart and this woman was one of the biggest contributors today. She gave from her heart. I told her, her donation would feed two people and said they won’t discount the smallness of your donation, because their hungry bellies will be full after a can of soup!! The things that I saw today, just put so my Joy in my heart. I had to laugh, Sue showed up to bring boxes because she heard we needed boxes, well Sue ended up staying until very late to help organize for us. I can tell you I didn’t do very well with that, I told them my job was being the “greeter” LOL!! I am not sure if they all thought that was okay, but I love people and I had so much fun talking to everyone. All I can say is I stand in awe of God’s goodness. God had other plans today and I am sure he laughed at the “small view” I had with my 14 foot truck. Not only did we fill 6 trucks, 24-32 foot trucks, but God provided the gas funds to get these 6 trucks there. There is no explanation but God!! The moral of this story is . . . we serve a God that created the universe and when he calls us to do something, we need to be obedient and do it knowing he WILL provide for us. His ways are better, we just need to be that vessel for him to work through. I am humbled by everyone’s generosity. I am humbled at the Sylvania Township Firefighters coming out to give us light and help us!! It took so many people to pull this off, but because we were obedient God provided!! We are headin to NYC tonight and I would ask for many prayers, prayers for safe travels. We will be taking our four younger children as I want them to experience this completely. Again, I cannot thank each and everyone of you enough to helping and being the hands and feet of Jesus. I want to thank @Gina Fielding, AndrewZinthemorning, and Toledo Free Press without them, none of this was possible and I want to thank God for believing in me and placing on my heart at the age of 5 that I needed to feed the hungry. This was my vision as I sat at church at the age of 5 in the third pew when a missionary came in and talked about helping the less fortunate and feeding them. I witnessed a miracle today and I am overwhelmed by the Love and Goodness of our Lord!!! I will do my best to post pictures tomorrow as we get them. . Thank you all for your help, your support, and your love!!! I love you guys and am blessed by each and everyone of you and remember DON’T EVER DISCOUNT THE SMALLNESS OF YOUR DONATION – IT MATTERS!!!!
GOD IS GOOD. . ALL THE TIME!!
