Day 53 of 365 Days of Kindness ~ PASS THE BLESSING ON:)

365 Days of Kindness – Day 53

So many AMAZING stories from the 365 Days of Kindness from last year and so far this year! If you would like to share your story, GO HERE!! It is so encouraging and exciting to watch God at work. THANK YOU JESUS!! I will start posting the night before so everyone can like and share with their friends and family. Let’s get everyone we know involved in this movement of the 365 Days of Kindness:)

**DAY 53 CHALLENGE**

Chocolate Sandwich Cookies II ~  

Ingredients
1 (18.25 ounce) package dark chocolate cake mix
1 (18.25 ounce) package low calorie chocolate cake mix
4 eggs
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 cups confectioners’ sugar

Directions

1.  Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease cookie sheets.

2.  In a medium bowl, stir together the dark and light chocolate cake mix. Add the eggs and oil, mix until well blended. Roll dough into 2 inch balls, and place them onto the prepared cookie sheet. Flatten the balls slightly with the back of a spoon.

3.  Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until firm. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

4.  To make the filling, beat the cream cheese and confectioner’ sugar together until smooth. Spread between two cooled cookies.

Today, I challenge everyone to bake cookies or cupcakes or any treat (we are making the Rocky Road Brownies) or even store bought and take to a public service worker, i.e. fire station, police station, etc.  It could even be your local bank, gas station, or hair salon.  Make sure to attach a ‘Thank you” and also include one of the 365 Days of Kindness cards  HERE!   Who’s in? I am praying that everyone gets involved in this. None of us can help everyone, but all of us can help someone, and when we do we serve Jesus. We can make an impact in our communities, one life at a time!!

52 Week Money Challenge – Week #8

WEEK #8 PROGRESS

Each Friday I will be posting about the 52 week Money Challenge just to check on everyone’s progress. All the details are listed below on the Challenge along with a printable file so you can track your progress. We are doing one PLUS we have decided to do a second one (which will be just 1/2 the money) for our CHRISTmas Sparkle Box. The Sparkle Box is our Gift to Jesus on CHRISTmas (since we celebrate because of his birth and I have never gone to a birthday party where I have given gifts to everyone, but the birthday person). We (our family) has decided all the money in our Sparkle Box will be donated to bless a family or two during the CHRISTmas season (anonymously). I am so excited that all of you are on this journey with us. Please comment and share any other ideas that you have come up with:)  We have decided to go in the reverse order and start with Week $52 so here is what we have so far:

52-WEEK MONEY CHALLENGE – WEEK #8

  • Jar #1 (Our jar) = $343 + $45 = $388
  • Jar #2 (Sparkle Box) = $171.50  + $22.50 = $194

Many are doing it Week 52, 1, 51, 2, etc, so if you are doing it that way your jar will look like this:

  • Jar #1 = $208 + $4 = $212

. . and for those going in weekly order:

  • Jar #1 = $28 + $8 = $36

There is no right or wrong way to do the jar, just do whatever works best for you, but please consider doing a second jar to bless a family at CHRISTmas time!!

With the New Year beginning to start many set a goal of trying to save money. I have seen many people do this particular challenge and be very successful. Then each year, they double what they did the year before. It has been fun to watch. I also know many have done it by starting with Week 52 – $52 and doing it in the reverse order.  Some are also stating they are just going to mark off what they can each week so maybe start from the middle.  It doesn’t matter which order you do it in, but I highly recommend trying it. You may say, I don’t even have $1 to start, but I challenge you to try! It can’t hurt.  Also, many are doing this at the work place so they hold each other accountable, how cool to ask everyone to donate $1 weekly and put in a work pool and at the end of the year, adopt a family for CHRISTmas.  We are doing a second one (1/2 of this) and will be donating all the money at the end of the year.  There are so many possibilities and fun twists that you can add to this:)  Plus if you sign up for any of my favorite sites below, you can earn extra that way also and use that has the weekly savings challenge!!  Every Friday we will do an update of where everyone is with this challenge. Just kind of an encouragement for everyone:)

**URGENT OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY** Help us feed the Homeless/Less fortunate on Sunday, March 16th!!

**WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE**

We will be doing a monthly outreach to help feed the homeless/less fortunate in our community.  We are scheduled for  Sunday, March 16th from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist New Life Church at 1430 W. Bancroft Street, Toledo, OH 43606.  This is the last time we will be serving at this location as we are moving to a more centralized location beginning in April. This is for the entire family so feel free to bring your children.  We have a  sign-up sheet for all item that we need.   PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE NOTES BESIDE EACH ITEM YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR SO YOU PROVIDE THE CORRECT QUANTITY NEEDED!! We need all the food to be brought in the 1/2 size aluminum pans (Standard 9 x 13 and approx. 2″ deep). Please make sure they are completely full as that is what we are basing the portion sizes on. You can find these at any grocery store, Meijer, Walmart, Target, etc.  To sign up for the items you want to bring Go HERE!! If you want to sign up for multiple items, please feel free to do that. We need all items at the church by 1:30 p.m.  PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO GET THE ITEMS TO THE CHURCH (unfortunately, we will not be able to pick ANY items up) All items have to be cooked as we only have a warming unit for the food.
