If you have been following our blog long, you know that our 12-year-old son, Isaiah, as endured significant bullying. Finally about 3 months ago we reached out to Special K (Kevin Daley) from the Harlem Globetrotters (he just retired end of February) and he has made a huge impact on Isaiah’s life. He has advocated for Isaiah, called him, sent him an autographed jersey, emailed him, etc, and Isaiah drew him a picture and you can see the above tweet. Now tell me, as a 12-year-old boy that not being the coolest thing EVER!! He has stood in the gap for Isaiah when Isaiah was at his lowest point. He is a man that Isaiah looks up to and also a man that Isaiah knows he can talk to. For someone being bullied, to know “your hero” is on your side makes all the difference. I am not saying Isaiah’s pain is going away, but to know he has a “buddy” has helped him. So many “famous” people say they stand for X, Y, Or Z, but when the cameras are not on them, how do they react/act. Well, I can tell you Kevin has done this all behind the scenes, which is totally commendable. Because he has made such a huge impact on our family, and so many of you have shared you have personally experienced bullying within your family, I am asking every single one of you to step up to Help Kevin win $100,000 for his Foundation to #STOPBULLYING. I am also asking you to share with as many people as you know. Kevin is a true hero to our family and deserves to win. I am confident he will make a huge impact in many communities with the $100,000.
