I was invited to St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Berea, Ohio to give my testimony. I was soooooo nervous as I am used to just teaching couponing classes, but also very humbled and thought this is another door God is opening so I agreed to it. It was amazing and the people there were amazing. Much to my surprise, channel 5 news showed up to do a story!! I think the priest, Gayle, contacted them!
Here is the video from the channel 5 Cleveland News!
Here is the story that Tom did!! What a wonderful man and thank you for allowing me to share my story and my faith! GOD IS GOOD. . . ALL THE TIME!!

BEREA, Ohio – Joni Meyer-Crothers knows the pain of hunger. While a young, single mother, she remembers herself and her children having to go to bed hungry.
Now married, her husband lost his job three years ago. It was a combination of looking for ways to save money and advice from a friend on how to get things free with coupons that has her on a mission.
“I’m an overachiever and I said if there’s two items, there’s a lot more, I’m figuring this out. Within two weeks we had over $3,000 worth of product for less than $100,” Meyer-Crothers said.
She was off and running mixing extreme couponing with her strong faith.
“This isn’t couponing, this is a ministry. We need to help feed the hungry. There’s no reason that anybody is hungry with the power of couponing, the items are free” she said.
Tuesday night she brought her message of helping to a group at St. Thomas Episcopal Church Berea.
At her website, Freetastesgood.com, Meyer-Crothers holds your hand while you help feed the hungry.
“I do all the price matching, I tell you what’s free that week and there’s usually between 30 and 35 items and I challenge everyone, donate five items a week.” She added, “If every single person did that, there would be nobody that’s hungry.”
She knows the limitations of food stamps.
“Food stamps only cover food. So there’s people that have to make choices between tooth brushes and tooth paste, shampoos. People don’t realize that. Those are items that (using coupons) are free all the time.”
She’s been on the TV show “Extereme Couponing” four times with another appearance this weekend highlighting her recent “Black Friday” coupon rampage.
She was nominated to appear on the show by three of her fellow church members. When contacted by a producer from the show, she believed she was being pranked by one of her daughters.
“Yeah, send me an email,” she dismissed the caller. Four shows later, the Toledo-area woman recently signed a book deal with Discovery Communications. She agreed but her faith and ministry is always in the forefront of her life.
“The first part of the book is about my biography, about this being a ministry and that’s what I think is cool.” She added, “If everybody did a little bit, the end result is huge. We can change our communities, we can change lives.”
Meyer-Crothers is a stickler for how you say coupon,” It’s coooopon, “ou” is you.” However you say it, it says helping.
