I am thrilled to present to you four of the food pantries that were nominated this month for our Filling the Food Pantries around the USA Ministry!! Each food pantry was asked the same questions and I am including their responses. Please make sure to share this with friends and family so they can also vote. I still have not heard back from 3 of the food banks so this is the list we have compiled. You can vote until next Saturday, 8/25 at 11:59 PM EST. . the food pantry with the most votes will receive the monetary donation as well as a shopping list and coupons to help fill their pantry. I am soooooo excited to see God at work . . .all for HIS glory!! Please prayfully consider which pantry you should vote for! I want to add that the four that are listed all sound like wonderful places and each of the people I spoke to were most gracious that someone cared enough to nominate them so for that. . THANK YOU!!

VICTORY BAPTIST CHURCH – CLINTON, IN

How long have you been serving your community? At least 15 years
Requirements to receive help? Live within 15 miles of the church
How many families do you help per month? Minimum of 35-40 families
How much can they get per visit? Family of 4 = 2-3 meals
Do they receive non-food items (i.e. toiletries) ? Depends if they have items available or not
How often can someone come per year? No more than 2x a month
How are you funded and/or sponsered? Donations through church only!
Any other pertinent details? Give 100+ holiday baskets for Easter, Thanksgiving, and CHRISTmas!

GOSPEL MISSION FOOD PANTRY – MARIETTA, OH

How long have you been serving your community? Since November 2009
Requirements to receive help? Smile on your face:) (she informed me too many come in with their heads hung low because they are embarrassed, so they make sure by the time they leave they are smiling)
How many families do you help per month? Approximately 500 families per month
How much can they get per visit? Food to get them through until the next week. They also offer clothing and Bibles if the family wants them.
Do they receive non-food items (i.e. toiletries)? Yes when available, but run out quickly
How often can someone come per year? Once a week – pantry is only open once a week
How are you funded and/or sponsered? Donations only because if they received state or federal funding then they would have to make too many restrictions to who could receive, how much they could receive, so they are strictly believing God will provide
Any other pertinent details? They are feeding them spiritually also – not just physically – families are prayed for and with if they would like prayer.

THE PANTRY OF BROWARD – FT. LAUDERDALE, FL

How long have you been serving your community? Jul-08
Requirements to receive help? Over age of 60 or grandparents raising grandchildren
How many families do you help per month? 950 people PLUS 166 grandkids
How much can they get per visit? Approximatley 57 lbs of dry goods PLUS breads and pastries
Do they receive non-food items (i.e. toiletries)?  None
How often can someone come per year? Once per month
How are you funded and/or sponsered? Strictly donations
Any other pertinent details? Thanksgiving gift basket/2-4 CHRISTmas toys for grandchildren

CLYDE BACK DOOR FOOD PANTRY – CLYDE, OH

How long have you been serving your community? 20+ years
Requirements to receive help? Show proof of income, residency, live within Clyde-Greensprings School District
How many families do you help per month? 164 families per month
How much can they get per visit? Depending on size of family amount varies
Do they receive non-food items (i.e. toiletries)  Yes when available, but run out of these items quickly
How often can someone come per year? Once a month
How are you funded and/or sponsered? Community supported
Any other pertinent details? Thanksgiving gift baskets, have not been able to do CHRISTmas as they don’t get enough donations.
