Are FREE trials really worth the time?

As CHRISTmas is approaching you will notice I will start posting more FREE 30-day trials, FREE/CHEAP items you can purchase, but have to cancel future auto shipments once you receive the item. Many people have asked, is it worth it? My answer. . YES!!! This is a practice I have ALWAYS used.   A lot of the books and DVDs my kids received were through these offers.  You  get 4-5 books or DVDs for $0.99 each + FREE shipping and then when the books arrive you have to call and cancel the auto subscription or cancel via the internet. To me, it is well worth it. I am getting items that value over $100, sometimes paying only shipping of less than $10 and it may take 3 minutes (tops) of my time to call and cancel. Sure I can go into the store and pay $100 or more and not have to make a phone call, but I work too hard to pay that price when I can get items for so much cheaper and then make a short phone call:)  I have been able to get numerous, numerous items this way. .from coffee, frying pans, jewelry, audio stuff, etc. You name it, I have probably been able to get it. Many think they will forget to cancel when it arrives. My practice. . I cancel the day it arrives or in the past, I have canceled future shipments when I receive my e-mail stating the product was shipped. I, personally, have NEVER encountered a problem doing this. To me, this is smart shopping and a great way to take advantage of all the wonderful products out there without breaking the bank. I have also used this practice to purchase gifts for friends and/or family for birthday and holidays. This might not be for everyone, but it is for me:) Also, when I do post these offers, I try to post the 1-800 number at the bottom of the blog post so it is easily accessible for you, plus the number is ALWAYS on the paperwork when you receive your items. Hope that helps everyone understand a little more and now you can all take advantage of these wonderful offers. . 🙂

Welcome to Tasty Tuesday: Caramel Apple Cupcakes!!

Okay so I have decided that Tuesdays will be  “Tasty Tuesday”.  I will post a recipe each week for a favorite dessert or food. . and you all can share yours as well!!

Today’s is going to be the “Caramel Apple Cupcakes”.  I am certain that my daughter, Lara, will love these as she loves the caramel apple suckers. . I am going to make these tonight and will let you all know.

Caramel Apple Cupcakes from The Girl Who Ate Everything!

Source: Adapted from America’s Best Recipes

Ingredients:
1 (18.25-ounce) package spice cake mix
2 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup peeled, cored, and chopped Granny Smith apple (about 1 large apple)
35 caramels
1/4 cup evaporated milk or heavy cream (or regular milk)
1/2 cup chopped pecans
24 wooden craft sticks

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cake mix, eggs, sour cream, milk, and vegetable oil until incorporated (about 30 seconds). Scrape sides of bowl and then beat on med-high speed for 3 minutes. Stir in chopped apple.

2. Spoon batter into paper-lined muffin pans, filling two-thirds full. Bake 18-20 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Do not overbake. Remove to a wire rack to cool.

3. Meanwhile, combine caramels and milk in a medium saucepan over very low heat; stir 4 minutes or until smooth. It’s very important to keep the heat very low because if the caramel gets too hot it will become really hard when cooled.

4. Spread caramel mixture over cupcakes being careful to not touch the caramel to the paper liners or it will stick to the liners; immediately sprinkle with pecans, pressing in slightly. Insert a wooden stick into center of each cupcake. Store covered in an airtight container. It’s best to serve the cupcakes the same day that you add the caramel topping. Caramel will soften if kept at room temperature for too long so store in the refrigerator until ready to serve then let come to room temperature to let caramel soften up a bit.

Makes 20-24 cupcakes. Enjoy!! They look delicious!

Shopping List & Coupon needs for Gospel Mission Food Pantry!!

We were able to bless the food pantry with a monetary gift of $152, as much as I prayed it would have been more, God knows the PERFECT amount (see picture below of what was sent today).  Here is the shopping list that I have provided for the Gospel Mission Food Pantry.
