If you have been following us on FB you will know yesterday we had a pretty big scare. As you all know we have pets and yes, they are like our kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Hope is our Golden Retriever who is the greatest dog ever. When we fostered we had almost all drug exposed babies and the only thing that calmed them was her lying next to them and them pulling on her hair. She laid there through every child. Yesterday, Jonah, our son, had 2 soccer games and we left at 6:30 a.m. and Hope was good. When we got home at 3 p.m. and walked in, she couldn’t get up on her hind legs and had messed all around the house. We called the animal hospital (the only one we knew in our area) and they told us it sounded like she threw a clot and that is why she cannot stand up so we have had to make the hard decision to do the euthanasia procedure. The kids were so completely heartbroken and so were we (me and Jamie). Jadyn told me to call Auntie Karen (My sister) because she would fix her. My sister works at the vet (East Suburban Animal Clinic) and Jadyn thought Auntie Karen could make her all better. I called my sister who informed us that East Suburban Animal Clinic had opened an Urgent Care in Maumee (about 15 minutes from us) called Dogwood Urgent Care, so we decided to try it out. The vet came in and asked Jamie if it was okay if she examined him before putting him down as it did seem as all signs were she threw a clot, but she just wanted to double check as something in her eyes didn’t seem right. Jamie said of course. She examined Hope and said it appeared she had a massive inner ear infection and her equilibrium was way off and that is why she could not stand on her hind legs and was leaning to one side. She asked if it was okay to keep her overnight and give her some meds and see what that did. Can I get a THANK YOU JESUS. They allowed Jamie to go over to Meijer to pick up Dramamine to save on cost also. Now who does that anymore? I just want to give a huge shout out to East Suburban Animal Clinic and the Dogwood Urgent Care in Maumee. When a vet goes above and beyond and does not charge you extra, all I can say is that is God’s favor!!! If any of you are looking for a new vet or in need of an urgent care for your pet, please consider supporting them. They are simply AWESOME!!
So today, Jamie and Isaiah headed back out to pick her up and I still just stand in Awe of God’s goodness. I am truly humbled ~ God is soooo good. . .all the time (Yes, I would still be saying that even if we had to put Hope down), but this is so much happier. We are thrilled to have Hope home and so is Buster, LOL:) I am in tears as I am writing this. . . God is so faithful. Today, when Jamie and Isaiah went to pick her up, the tech came in the room and told Jamie someone had made an anonymous donation toward our bill. Half of our bill was paid for. Can I get a THANK YOU JESUS!!! She stated to Jamie that this had never happened before. Whomever it was, please know we cannot thank you enough and this means so much to us. I can also assure you that we will be passing the blessing on to someone else. I truly stand in Awe of God’s amazing Grace and how he takes care of all of us. This act of kindness means more to us than I can even express. . . we are humbled and so completely appreciative for this act of kindness. Jamie said all he could say to the tech was “God is good:)” and Isaiah replied “All the time:)” How cool is it to see God at work and how cool is it to have such an enormous blessing come your way. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I truly LOVE you guys more than you will ever know!
GOD IS GOOD. . . ALL THE TIME!!
